Meet the Team: The Three Friends Behind Sevenize

Welcome to Sevenize! We’re Wala, Raza, and Abd - three friends who turned our shared passion for travel into something bigger than we ever imagined. But before we were Sevenize, we were just three guys who loved exploring the world together.

How We Met

The College Connection

We all met in college, but not in the way you might expect. Wala and I (Abd) were roommates freshman year, and Raza lived across the hall. We bonded over late-night study sessions, terrible dining hall food, and our shared dream of seeing the world.

The First Trip

Our first trip together was a weekend getaway to a nearby city. It was supposed to be simple - just three friends exploring a new place. But something clicked. We realized we had complementary strengths and a shared sense of adventure.

Wala was the photographer, always looking for the perfect shot. Raza was the foodie, always hunting for the best local eats. I was the planner, always figuring out the logistics. Together, we made a pretty good team.

Our Different Strengths

Wala: The Sunrise Chaser

What he brings: An eye for beauty, patience, and the ability to capture moments that others miss.

His superpower: Waking up at 4 AM to chase the perfect sunrise, then making it look effortless.

Why we love him: He sees the world differently. While we’re rushing from place to place, he’s noticing the small details that make each destination special.

His motto: “The best moments happen when most people are still asleep.”

Raza: The Culinary Daredevil

What he brings: Fearless curiosity, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to connect with people through food.

His superpower: Walking into any restaurant, anywhere in the world, and somehow getting the best table and the most authentic experience.

Why we love him: He’s not afraid to try anything, and his enthusiasm is contagious. He’s the reason we’ve discovered some of our favorite places.

His motto: “When in doubt, eat it.”

Abd: The Adventure Architect

What he brings: Strategic thinking, cultural research, and the ability to turn ideas into reality.

His superpower: Planning trips that balance structure with spontaneity, ensuring we never miss the important stuff while leaving room for magic.

Why we love him: He’s the reason our trips actually happen. He does the research, makes the reservations, and handles the logistics so we can focus on the experience.

His motto: “Plan the structure, leave room for magic.”

How We Work Together

The Planning Process

When we’re planning a trip, we each bring our own expertise:

Abd researches the destination, finds accommodations, and creates a loose itinerary.

Wala identifies the best photography spots and times for optimal lighting.

Raza discovers the local food scene and finds the hidden gems.

The Travel Dynamic

On the road, we’ve learned to balance our different approaches:

  • Wala gets his sunrise shots while Raza and Abd explore the local market
  • Raza leads us to a hidden restaurant while Wala documents the experience
  • Abd handles the logistics while Wala and Raza focus on the experience

The Content Creation

When we’re creating content, we each have our role:

Wala handles the visual storytelling - photos, videos, and visual content.

Raza focuses on the cultural and culinary aspects - food, people, and local experiences.

Abd manages the planning and logistics content - guides, tips, and practical advice.

Our Friendship Philosophy

We’re Not Just Travel Partners

We’re friends first, travel partners second. Our friendship is built on:

  • Mutual respect for each other’s different approaches
  • Open communication about what we want from each trip
  • Flexibility to adapt when plans change
  • Support for each other’s individual goals and interests

We Embrace Our Differences

We don’t try to make each other the same. We celebrate our differences because they make our experiences richer:

  • Wala’s perfectionism creates incredible content
  • Raza’s spontaneity leads to unexpected discoveries
  • Abd’s planning ensures we don’t miss anything important

We Learn from Each Other

Every trip teaches us something new about ourselves and each other:

  • Wala has taught us to slow down and appreciate the moment
  • Raza has shown us how to connect with people and cultures
  • Abd has helped us understand the value of preparation and research

The Challenges We’ve Faced

Different Travel Styles

We don’t always want the same things from a trip. Wala might want to spend hours at one location for the perfect shot, while Raza wants to explore the local food scene, and Abd wants to stick to the itinerary.

How we handle it: We’ve learned to communicate our needs and find compromises that work for everyone.

Budget Differences

We don’t all have the same budget for travel. Some trips are more expensive than others, and we’ve had to find ways to make travel accessible for everyone.

How we handle it: We’re transparent about costs and find creative ways to make trips work for everyone’s budget.

Different Interests

We don’t all love the same things. Wala might want to visit every art museum, while Raza wants to try every street food stall, and Abd wants to see every historical site.

How we handle it: We plan trips that include something for everyone, and we’re not afraid to split up for part of the day.

What We’ve Learned About Friendship

Communication is Everything

The key to traveling with friends is communication. You have to be honest about what you want, what you need, and what you’re feeling.

Compromise is Essential

You can’t always get what you want, but you can usually find a way to make everyone happy. It might mean spending a few hours apart, or it might mean trying something new.

Support Each Other

Travel can be stressful, and having friends who support you makes all the difference. We’ve learned to be patient with each other and to celebrate each other’s successes.

Have Fun

At the end of the day, travel is supposed to be fun. Don’t take yourself too seriously, and don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself.
